Auckland, New Zealand – HouGarden had an ogre-ly good time at the Barfoot & Thompson Quiz Night Fundraiser held last week at Eden Park, combining fun, friendly competition, and community spirit for a truly meaningful cause.

The HouGarden team embraced the theme, dressing as beloved characters from Shrek, and proudly walked away as the Best Dressed Winners of the night. Congratulations to Dan Keenan, Dan McKay, Vivien Xu, Roy Sun, Anshul -, Aditya Giri, Lucy, Brendon, and Mitchell for bringing creativity and energy to the event.

Beyond the costumes and laughter, the evening’s biggest achievement was the incredible $188,694 raised for Starship Children’s Hospital. This generous contribution will go directly towards vital medical equipment, positively impacting the lives of tamariki, their whānau, and the dedicated hospital staff who care for them every day.

HouGarden extends heartfelt thanks to Barfoot & Thompson for hosting such a vibrant and meaningful event. “It’s inspiring to see so many community members come together, combining fun and generosity to support a cause that truly matters,” said a HouGarden representative.

The event was a reminder that while friendly competition and creativity bring people together, the true highlight is the impact these efforts have on the wider community. HouGarden is proud to stand alongside such a passionate group, supporting initiatives that make a real difference for children and families across New Zealand.
